Blog 52: 1 day away....the election and power.

Whoa. 2020. Lots of change & chaos both externally and internally. Lots of people facing challenges they could not have imagined in January.

And it DOES feel like we are in the most divisive times I can remember. From completely opposing thoughts on who should be president to completely opposing thoughts on masking and if the masks are doing a service to your health or doing the opposite. I am not here to debate or point out my feelings on either of those things.

However maybe there is a bigger not so cynical or negative plan for the divisiveness. I like to believe things unfold as they should. So why are we here energetically?

Maybe the divide is rocking us awake in different ways. Discomfort does a great job of this. I’m not approving of the judging, shaming, blaming etc. on either side of the coin. However it is a new experience to feel and see so many triggered emotionally from people in our communities, our neighbors, friends, co-workers, family etc. Maybe this shake down we are experiencing is the contrast we need to remember we each have incredible power in how our world unfolds.

The challenge for each of us is to remember these negative states do NOT hold the power. Power doesn’t lie in negative emotions of blame, shame, fear, depression etc. They are energy draining states.

Power lies in seeing these challenges and finding our intuitive voice, helping others, seeing solutions that start with yourself and those you influence. It starts with taking ownership in your own circle. It will look different for everyone and it may have very different messages and that’s ok. We all don’t need to have the same vantage points to be helping humanity. Or offer compassion or respect for one another.

Here is the big point for this blog: Real power for us does not lie in the hands of any other human. It may appear that way, as someone appears to have “control” of us. Whether that’s a president or a boss or a family members.

However we each hold much untapped power in how we exercise our mind, our state/energy, and our decisions and choices. To remember that power inherently lies within each of us to determine and co create our future. This thought feels easier. Going inward and stabilizing your state and feeling things internally you wish to feel no matter your external is power. It also takes practice.

We don’t get just one shot at this. We all can reach for better thoughts or challenge ourselves to find silver linings as we enter this week. And every week.
